Dark Corners
the future of history
the future of history
Dark Corners is site-responsive, immersive, promenade theatre, using projection, soundscape, and kinetic sculpture, with a community component, to tell true histories, where they happened, in the words of those who witnessed.
The new technologies of projection-mapping and augmented reality enhance the oldest of art forms; true tales of the ancestors. The team works with archives, architecture, local historians, and first nations consultants, to create beautiful and haunting experiences of history. Dark Corners illuminates the past and brings the long-dead to life.Â
To protect our intellectual property, we do not publicise our 'making of Dark Corners' video. If you are considering commissioning Dark Corners for your town, please contact us to request it.
See a video below from Kwinana's rendition, filmed at Smirk's Cottage, Kwinana’s heritage precinct.

Manjimup's Dark Corners
Thursday 23 April 2026 – Sunday 26 April 2026 | 6:30 PM
As dusk fades through the tall timbers, the Night-watchman leads you on a journey through history. From his lantern, shimmering figures emerge; a bushranger, a bank robber, a refugee, and an Anzac burst from the walls, whisper their stories, then evaporate. Dark Corners illuminates the past and brings the long-dead to life. The new technologies of projection-mapping and augmented reality enhance the oldest of art forms; true tales of the ancestors.
This tour is currently under development and will premiere on 23 April 2026.

Cossack's Dark Corners
Thursday 06 August 2026 – Saturday 08 August 2026 | 7:00 PM
The first port town in Australia’s North West is now a handful of crumbling Victorian-era remnants, incongruous in their grandeur, against the endless red dust emptiness.Â
What happened here?Â
As dusk fades over the tidal flats, the Night-watchman leads you on the journey from boom to bust, enchanting you with tales of the former residents. From his lantern, shimmering figures emerge, painting pictures on the walls with light, before dissolving into the night. Meet pearl magnates, dynamite assassins, and bank robbing monkeys. Dark Corners illuminates the past and brings the long-dead to life. The newest technologies of digital art, projection-mapping, and augmented reality enhance the oldest of art forms; true tales of the ancestors. This is the future of history.Â
